• Maintained clean, neat, and operational facilities to serve program needs. I was in charge of cleaning children's spaces used for the summer camp and daily activities organized by Sollievo. I learned how to arrange a space according to various activities, such as arts and crafts or music laboratory.
• Supported engaging, fun, and smooth-running events by helping with organization and planning. The association often organized charity events, such as children's performances to raise money. I was in charge of helping with the children on stage, their makeup and greeting the guests. I also dealt with behind the scenes arrangements, such as selecting a proper stage costume and make-up for a specific role.
• Communicated with staff members to stay informed about volunteer opportunities and events. Sollievo hosts weekly meeting where new events are discussed. They range from musical performances to charity marriages, everyone is invited to take part according to his/her abilities. I learned skills such as entertainment at birthday parties, that is coming up with new games and songs to play together.
• Represented organization positively and professionally while providing community with much-needed services. Sollievo offers special opportunities to disable kids, such as attending a summer camp or musical during the year. Here there experts education in special needs children, as well as volunteers trained. Every kid feels part of a group, inclusion is a core value.

I was in charge of children under 10 years, but I mainly worked with children between 18 months to 5 years.

• Created educational materials to convey important information to service recipients. It takes several weeks of planning to decide the activities of the summer camp. Every game is not just a game, but provides an underlying message, picked depending on the children age.
• Reassured children when upset providing emotional support and stability, especially when they had to leave their parents in the morning
• Taught children basic life skills, manners and personal hygiene. Setting up a routine was very important to them.
